Web Designing Internship - School of Social Work

Can You Design a Website!

Do you need to add A Great Web Designing Experience to your CV?

We Need Your Help!

There is an exciting opportunity for volunteering/ internship/ independent study for a student accomplished in web designing. We are in the process of building a web-space to host an online magazine that addressees concerns of women from Asia. The project is a new initiative, is an international collaboration, in the School of Social Work.

The web page designing will entail simple tasks such as uploading our text or creating text based files in web designing software. The host allows a number of different software to construct a page such as dream weaver. It also entails complicated tasks of installing multiple links to link pages and stories in the magazine, uploading audio and video, creating blogging space for visitors to post comments, linking comments and stories. It might also involve uploading forms for online submission by visitors.

The host provides a Premium website building software as well. The website, hosted by a state of the art web-host also provides 24 hour online and over the phone support.

The right person should have a background and competency in working with web designing and use of some of the web design software.

This is volunteer work, a social service for very visible credits and recognition. It will look great on any CV and we are trying to get some amount of stipend for the student who works on this project.

As the web pages for the magazine will be changed and updated monthly, it does require some amount of ongoing commitment through the semester –we anticipate maybe a weekend or couple of days every month. We are more than happy to discuss your availability and work around your schedule and time.

We would encourage all those interested to contact me Shweta Singh, Assistant Professor, School of Social Work at ssingh9@luc.edu.
