Position Summary

The Systems Engineer - provides hands-on technical support in the Chicago office. The mission of the desktop and trade floor support team is to be the central point of contact for all desktop systems, local windows servers, trading and technical support, handling most incoming issues. Also, please note that Group One does not strictly delineate job responsibilities. For example, this position also requires hands-on participation in setting up hardware in our server room as well as working on projects that traditionally fall under facilities in our office. We offer excellent base compensation and performance bonuses based upon the individual’s contribution and overall company performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with existing support staff and clients to improve perception of customer support from the technology group.
• Participation in training events to make trading and operations staff comfortable that the technology group is setup with their ongoing satisfaction in mind.

Requirements

• Experience with Windows XP Professional, Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 Server and MS Office products. Some Windows 7 experience pref. but not required.
• Solid understanding of Windows domain structures.
• Understanding of roaming profiles.
• Understanding of client/server and middleware software systems.
• Excellent grasp of networking and network troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting web delivered applications is a plus.
• Must possess excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple demands.
• Strong working knowledge of third party vendors who provide market data and analytical services utilized by trading staff.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
