Forrester Research Data Reported by Prentice Hall

A recent poster printed by Prentice Hall reports the following Forrester Research data about where IT jobs are found:
  • 35% in Advertising Agencies, Accounting Firms, Law Firms, and Consulting Firms. They hire many any computer programmers and software developers since they develop a large percentage of their own software applications.
  • 20% in Schools, Hospitals, Government Agencies, and Non-Profits. They employ a large share of computer, network, and operations analysts, as well as computer support specialists.
  • 13% in Banks, Security Firms, and Insurance Carriers. Wide range of IT specialists.
  • 12% in Manufacturing Firms. Includes a larger than average percentage of jobs for computer programmers and software engineers.
  • 8% in Utilities and Telecommunications. Includes a larger than average share of computer, network, and database administrators.
